Majority Caucus Denies Leadership Change In Parliament.
The Majority caucus in Parliament has denied any claims that its leadership has changed as reported by the media.
Speaking to parliamentary press corps, the First Deputy Speaker of Parliament Hon Joseph Osei Owusu said the publication is not true.
He explained that the majority caucus has not made a change in its leadership and called Ghanaians and the party faithfuls to ignore such publications.
“Majority caucus has not made any changes in its leadership. Majority caucus has not contemplated making any changes to it leadership and that we are telling the whole world (Ghana) to ignore any such publications.
“We want to assure you that we have confidence in the leadership as they are and the statusco shall remain,” he said.
Hon Joseph Osei Owusu further stated that the caucus is aware that one of the leaders has been appointed as a minister and the replacement will be made by the caucus.
“The election in change or otherwise of the leadership is in the hands of the Caucus and not anybody outside parliament. The new standing orders have given the authority for Caucus to choose their leaders not anybody outside parliament,” he emphasized.
