Mahama Nominates 72 DCEs

President John Dramani Mahama in his first set of Metropolitan, Municipal and District leaders has nominated 72 Districts Chief Executives.

In a press statement, the Minister for Local Government, Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs, Ahmed Ibrahim confirmed the nominations.

This is in accordance with Article 243 (1) of the 1992 Constitution and 20 (1) of the Local Governance Act, 2016 (Act 936), as amended.

The list includes 18 nominees in the Volta Region, nine in the Oti Region, six in the Ahafo Region, 10 in the Bono Region, nine in the Bono East Region, five in the Savannah Region, six in the North East Region and nine in the Western North.

The nominations are pending the approval of respective Assemblies.
