Mahama Invites South Korea’s President to Ghana

President John Dramani Mahama has extended an invitation to South Korean President Lee Jae-Myung.

The visit scheduled for next year is intended to celebrate 50 years of formal bilateral relations between the two nations.

The invite was extended when President Mahama received at the Blue House as part of his five-day working visit to the Asian country.

Ghana and the Republic of Korea have agreed to enhance their bilateral cooperation, with President Mahama becoming the first African President to be hosted by President Lee Jae-Myung after his inauguration last year.

The two leaders held talks covering a wide range of interests, including agribusiness, maritime security, AI, value addition for critical minerals, automotive manufacturing, infrastructure development, including railways, chocolate production with Ghana’s cocoa, capacity building and trade.

Ghana and South Korea signed three strategic agreements in maritime security, science, technology, innovation and climate protection.
