Mahama Appoints Adam Mutawakilu as Acting GWCL CEO

Unsuccessful Damongo Constituency Parliamentary Candidate in the 2024 elections, Adam Mutawakilu, has been appointed the acting Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Water Company Limited (GWCL).

A letter from the Secretary to the President, Callistus Mahama, informed him about the appointment on January 22, 2025, as it took effect.

“I write to formally inform you that the President of the Republic in accordance with Article 195(1) of the Constitution has appointed you as the Acting Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Water Company Limited.”

The appointment is, however, pending receipt of the Constitutionally required advice of the Governing Board, given in consultation with the Public Services Commission.

“I take this opportunity to congratulate you formally on your appointment,” a part of the letter read, directing him to indicate his acceptance or otherwise within fourteen (14) days of receipt.
