Mahama Appoints Aaron Kanor Acting Customs Division Commissioner

President John Dramani Mahama has appointed Aaron Kanor as the Customs Division Commissioner of the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA).
This is in accordance with Article 195(1) of the 1992 Constitution and Section 16(1) of the Ghana Revenue Authority Act, 2009 (Act 791).
The appointment takes immediate effect according to a letter by the Secretary to the President, Callistus Mahama.
However, it is pending receipt of the constitutionally required advice of the Governing Board, given in consultation with the Public Services Commission.
As part of the role, he will be responsible for providing strategic leadership and operational oversight of the Customs Division, including revenue mobilisation, trade facilitation, border security, anti-smuggling operations, and enforcement of all customs laws and regulations.
He will work under the supervision of the Commissioner-General of GRA to strengthen institutional integrity, enhance efficiency, and ensure strict compliance with applicable laws and international best practices.
“His Excellency expects that you will discharge your duties with the highest standards of professionalism, integrity, and accountability, in line with the Government’s commitment to transparency, revenue assurance, and institutional reform,” a part of the letter relayed.
