Launching A Gold Coin In My Honour Is Something I Truly Appreciate – Asantehene Expresses Gratitude

The Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu ll has expressed his gratitude to Eon3 Group for being the brain behind the Asantehene Commemorative Gold Coins which was launched at the Manhyia Palace over the weekend.

According to Otumfuo, he has had the honour of hosting several Adae festivals and many other events in the two decades since ascending the Golden Stool, but the launch of a Gold Coin in his honour is something he sincerely appreciates.

“In the two decades since we ascended the Golden Stool, we have had the privilege of hosting many of you here for our various Adae festivals and many other events. But the launch of a Gold Coin in our honour is something that we truly appreciate and sincerely thank all those who have made it happen”.

He, therefore, thanked the Eon3 media group for recognizing his influence and minting Commemorative Gold Coins in his honour and to the Bank of Ghana for giving them the go-ahead to mint the coins in his honour.

“We are grateful to the young men who have been moved by our efforts to commemorate them in this manner and we are particularly thankful to the Bank of Ghana for giving them the nod to proceed”.

Otumfuo went on to say that, for centuries, Asante has been known as the “Kingdom of Gold” and the Golden Stool as the source of the Asante nation’s spirit and energy, and it was gold wealth that allowed Asante to construct and sustain a kingdom for four centuries.

“Asante has been acknowledged for centuries as the Kingdom of Gold. The spirit and energy of the Asante nation is drawn from the Golden Stool and it was the wealth from gold which enabled Asante to build and sustain a Kingdom for four centuries”

The Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu ll said this in his address during the launch of the Asantehene Commemorative Gold Coins last Sunday, December 12, at the Manhyia Palace in Kumasi.

The Asantehene Commemorative Gold Coins was launched yesterday at the Manhyia Palace, Kumasi. The program was under the distinguished patronage of the Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu ll.

Some dignitaries that were present include the Vice President, Dr. Mahamud Bawumia, and his wife, Samira Bawumia, Chief of Staff, Madam Akosua Osei Opare, Ministers of State, Ambassadors and Chief Executive Officers of both state and private companies.
