List of Diplomatic and Service Passport Holders in Former Gov’t

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration has released a list of categories of diplomatic and service passport holders in the previous administration.

Persons who fall within these categories must submit their passports before January 24, 2025.

It follows a directive by the Presidency demanding a recall of these passports.

“The Ministry of Foreign Affairs wishes to inform that, it has been directed by the Office of the President to recall the Diplomatic and Service Passports issued during the tenure of the previous administration,” the Ministry said in a statement issued on January 15, 2025.

It explained that the recall exercise is to ensure a review of all Diplomatic and Service Passports in line with the current eligibility criteria for issuance and prevent its misuse in a bid to safeguard its integrity.

Below is the List:
* Former Ministers and spouses;
* Former Members of Parliament irrespective of political affiliation;
* Former Members of the Council of State and spouses;
* Former/ Retired Justices of the Superior and Lower Courts;
* Former Regional Ministers, Metropolitan, Municipal and District Chief Executives, Chief Executive Officers of State Institutions, Chairs and Members of Boards;
* Officials of the National Cathedral Project;
* Former Political Ambassadors and dependants;
* Businessmen and Entrepreneurs;
* Religious and Traditional Leaders;
* Former Government Functionaries; and
