Lil Win’s ‘A Country Called Ghana’ Nominated for ‘Black Star Movie of the Year’

The film “A Country Called Ghana” has been nominated for the coveted “Black Star Movie of the Year” award at the 2024 Black Star International Film Festival. This recognition acknowledges the movie’s outstanding quality and impact in the African film industry.

The Black Star International Film Festival, held annually in Accra, Ghana, celebrates exceptional African cinema and provides a platform for filmmakers to showcase their work.

The nomination is a testament to the hard work and dedication of the cast, crew, and producers, including Kwadwo Nkansah Lilwin.

The movie features both Ghanaian and Nigerian actors, including Ramsey Nouah, Charles Awurum, and Victor Osuagwu, popularly known as Awilo Sharp Sharp, Paa George, and Sweet Mimi.

The acclaimed film has achieved global recognition, landing a worldwide cinema distribution deal. It is set to be screened in theaters across the globe, following its impressive nominations from the Nollywood Film Festival and the IMO International awards.

Meanwhile, after suspending the nationwide premiering of the new movie due to a recent accident, Kumawood Comic Actor Kwadwo Nkansah Lil Win has announced the event will now take place in Sunyani, in the Bono Region on July 27, 2024.

“Everything was set for the premiere in Sunyani. All payments had been made. We had planned to do it after Kumasi. Now that I have recovered, we are planning to hold it on July 27 which is a Saturday. So we will be in Sunyani. After that 29th we come back to court.”
