Let’s Fight Against Cyberbullying- Wendy Shay
Ghanaian singer Wendy Shay has started an advocacy against cyberbullying.
In a statement, she encouraged Ghanaians to push against cyberbullying, online harassment, and malicious attacks on innocent people.
It comes after she fell victim to same.
Shay has been accused in a viral video of engaging in lesbianism with a young girl she is fostering- an allegation she has labelled as “false” and “malicious”.
“In the last few days, I became aware of a false and very hurtful video circulating online about me. I want to assure everyone, my fans, my family, and the general public that the allegations in that video are completely untrue and were created with malicious intent,” she said while addressing the issue.
Following a complaint to the police, she said active investigations have commenced with the suspect behind the account traced to the United Arab Emirates.
He is said to be currently working with a construction company.
“Further steps are being taken through the appropriate channels to ensure he is held accountable for his actions.”
She expressed her confidence in the investigation process to bring this matter to a swift and just resolution.
