Lady Julia Celebrates Asante Queens with Banquet
Lady Julia Osei Tutu, the wife of the Asantehene, has celebrated Asante Queens for their contributions to the development and prestige of the kingdom.
She organized a banquet at the Otumfuo Osei Tutu II Jubilee Hall at the Manhyia Palace to celebrate and honour them on Sunday, December 22, 2024.
The Queens beautifully donned their dinner outfits and made an impressive appearance for the night.
As part of the event which Her Highness said was also to release tension, the Queens wined, dined and danced heartily.
Annual Event
Otumfuo Osei Tutu II who passed through the event to exchange pleasantries with the queens complimented them for their beauty and their dance skills.
He also announced the banquet was going to be entrenched as part of the annual schedules of the Palace.
“My wife will continue to hold this party.”
Unity
Meanwhile, he called for unity among the Queens, affirming that unity is the hallmark of Asanteman.
He reminded them that the kingdom was founded on the strength of unity.
“This is all aimed at uniting us because unity was used to establish Asante. You are the bedrock of Asante. You know I am always behind you. If you are troubled by any issues, I will look into them and resolve them for peace to prevail.”
Honour
In her remarks, Lady Julia expressed her highest regard for the queens and their complex role in the kingdom which they seamlessly and beautifully deliver.
“Thank you for honouring our invitation for us to wine and enjoy ourselves. This is the least I can do to honour your love, hard work and your service to Asanteman. You do it beautifully.”
She noted that the party was aimed at giving them the opportunity to blow off the steam after a hectic year.
“This year Asanteman celebrated three anniversaries, and you graced them all exhibiting the culture and tradition of Asanteman. You exalt and elevate Asanteman. I invited you here to celebrate your contributions and thank you. It is also to mark the end of the year.”
