Kwadaso: Murder Suspect Attempts Suicide
A 34-year-old taxi driver has survived a suicide attempt after allegedly stabbing a young woman multiple times at the Tanoso Electoral area in the Kwadaso Municipality.
The female victim identified as Dorothy Owusu Annor, was killed on April 21 near the Mighty Jesus Educational Complex at Dominase by Robert Kwabena Boamah.
The culprit, after allegedly committing the crime, consumed weedicides to commit suicide.
A statement by the police said, that at the time of his arrest at his hideout at Namong, near Offinso in the Ashanti Region on April 23 following leads from the crime scene, he showed signs of ill health.
“After his arrest, the suspect appeared weak and upon further questioning, he confessed to attempting to take his own life by drinking a bottle of weedicide.”
He was rushed to the Abuakwa Polyclinic, where he received treatment and was subsequently discharged.
He is currently in police custody, awaiting court arraignment after confessing to the crime.
