Kundungu: NACOC Apprehends Alleged 60-Year-Old Arms and Drug Dealer

The Narcotics Control Commission in the Upper West Regional Command has arrested a 60-year-old suspected of being an ammunition and drug dealer at Kundugu in the Wa East District.

Identified as Abass Seidu, the suspect was apprehended on January 29, 2026, following a series of surveillance by undercover operatives from the Regional Command at the Kundugu market and his stash house.

Operatives found the suspect in possession of 3 cartons of ammunition, tramadol concealed in assorted pharmaceutical drugs.

A further search of the suspects’ stash house at Wa-Kejetia lorry station resulted in the discovery of 7 cartons and 362 single pieces of ammunition.

Other items found at the suspect’s stash house were assorted foreign cigarettes. In all, 2626 cartridges of ammunition were found with the suspect.

The suspect has allegedly been dealing with local clients as well as clients from Burkina Faso.

“The suspect has since been handed over to the Wa Municipal Police for further investigations and processing for court,” it reported in a statement issued on February 19, 2026.

The Regional Command use the occasion to caution the general public to refrain from illegal acts.
