Kumawu MP Sympathises with Displaced Constituents after Heavy Downpour

The Member of Parliament for Kumawu Constituency, Ernest Yaw Anim, has solidarized with his constituents who were affected by Tuesday’s heavy downpour in parts of the Ashanti Region.

Strong winds ripped off the roofs of some homes and a school, scenes from the District have depicted.

In a statement, the Parliamentary representative for the area conveyed his sympathies to the victims, some of whom he indicated had lost their entire livelihoods.

“It is with a heavy heart that we receive the news of the devastating downpour that has severely impacted our beloved Kumawu Constituency, precisely Kumawu and Oyoko. Many have been displaced, homes have been destroyed, and livelihoods disrupted.”

“We stand in solidarity with all those who have suffered loss and are committed to working closely with the relevant authorities and relief agencies to ensure that urgent support reaches those in need. We will do everything possible to help restore normalcy and bring comfort to our people.”

He also urged well-meaning Ghanaians to go to the aid of the victims.

“We also call on all well-meaning individuals and organizations to join in supporting the affected families. Every act of kindness counts.”
