Kudus Recounts Onset Of His Friendship With Stonebwoy
Ghanaian professional football player, Mohammed Kudus, says he knew Livingstone Etse Satekla, better known by his stage name Stonebwoy- his favourite musician- before pursuing his career overseas.
His admiration for the musician was however not reciprocated as Stonebwoy was not acquainted with him.
According to the Ajax star, he knew him through his music.
Their mutual relations began seven years ago when he reached out to the artiste and received a response.
“I think we got in touch in 2016, 2017 before I moved to Denmark. One time I was there and I felt like reaching out and luckily he replied. I was so happy that day. From there it continued,” he recalled during a group interview.
“I started playing his music in my club in Denmark. I remember they (the football club) sent him a shirt. I was in Ghana, we met and the love kept growing up. But I knew him growing up listening to his music,” he added.
Stonebwoy is in Amsterdam visiting the player at his Club ahead of the release of his 5th Dimension Album.
Asked what they share in common, Stonebwoy replied, “We come from the hood, the ghetto, the trenches…For us, we found riches, poverty, struggle, and hunger. You find everything at once where we grew up. So now we are equipped with the indices to navigate {ou} life through.”
For Kudus, the fact that young people look up to them is what they share in common.
