Kuami Eugene Insists He Wrote “No Dulling” By Keche
Ghanaian singer and songwriter, Kuami Eugene, has insisted that he is the writer behind a hit song by music duo Keche released in the year 2020.
The controversy surrounding the “No Dulling” song featuring Kuami Eugene began after the Lynx signee made a public proclamation of his role in the song.
But that was shot down by the group during an interview with blogger Zion Felix last year.
They stated that Kwami Eugene lied but in a recent interview with Delay, the “Angela” hitmaker insisted that he wrote the chorus.
“If anyone claims credit for the whole chorus other than me, it’s a big lie. Because I wrote that.”
“I didn’t charge ¢1 for that song. I had written that part before they approached me,” he added.
He, however, credited the duo as the real owners of the song.
He believes their denial of the fact “might be because it is generally perceived that musicians whose songs are written by others don’t have the talent. That’s not the perception overseas”.
Asked about his current relationship with Keche, he said, “We are cool just that we are not like we use to be because they feel awkward about the interview they granted”.
According to him, he will collaborate with them on another song on the condition that they “allow me to write it”.
