Kotoko Sign Goal Scorer Eduku in Search of Goals

In an attempt to address a major concern for Asante Kotoko, Sampson Eduku has been signed to a one-and-a-half-year contract.

The prolific goal scorer was announced to have joined the Porcupines after his stint with Iraqi Premier League side Al Quwa Al Jawiya on Thursday, January 9, 2025.

With his addition, it is hopeful that Kotoko will be able to create more goal chances, capitalise on the chances and avoid wastefulness.

The club has generally been battling low goal tally this season, a major concern to head Coach Prosper Narteh Ogum.

In several of the Porcupine’s post-match press conferences, he had waded into his team’s inability to score as a major concern he was working on.

Reacting to the signing of Eduku, Dr Ogum expressed hope that he will make an immediate impact.

“Sampson is a proven goal scorer with great versatility and experience. His ability to find the back of the net and create opportunities for others will add a new dimension to our attack. We’re excited to have him join us and believe he’ll make an immediate impact.”

The 29-year-old appears to have a clear understanding of his responsibilities at the club.

“I’m here to work hard, score goals, and help the team achieve its ambitions,” he told the club media.

He foresees talisman Albert Amoah and Kwame Opoku will challenge him to give his best.

The striker previously played for Samartex and Tamale City. During the 2022/23 season with Tamale City, Eduku was in scintillating form, netting 14 goals and providing 4 assists.

His impressive performances gave him international recognition.
