Kotoko Play DC United in October Friendly
Asante Kotoko Sporting Club have received the nod to participate in an international friendly game against United States of America (USA)’s top-tier club, DC United.
The annual game conceived by the Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA) in collaboration with the Ghana Football Association (GFA), forms part of activities to mark Ghana Week DC 2024 which will start on October 7 and end on October 12.
The highly anticipated game will take place on October 12, 2024, at the Audi Field in Washington DC.
Confirming the game, the FA said Asante Kotoko SC will represent Ghana at this year’s Capital City Africa Cup.
“The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has given approval for the Club to participate in a high-profile international friendly against Major League Soccer (MLS) side DC United, scheduled for Saturday, October 12, 2024, at the Audi Field in Washington DC.”
“Asante Kotoko SC, a storied and well-followed Ghanaian football club, will take on DC United at the state-of-the-art and soccer-specific stadium, Audi Field, in Buzzard Point, Southwest, Washington D.C,” it justified.
This is the second time a Ghanaian Premier League Club is set to embark on a journey to the United States to play a friendly match against an MLS side, after Medeama SC suffered a 2-1 loss in a similar encounter on October 14, 2023.
