Kotoko Mourn former Management Member Yamoah Ponko
Asante Kotoko Sporting Club have paid tribute to their former management member Afrifa Yamoah Ponko following the confirmation of his passing on Sunday, October 6, 2024.
The former Ejisu Municipal Chief Executive is reported to have died after an illness in the past weeks.
In a post on Facebook, Kotoko eulogised him for his “great service” to the club during his days as a football administrator.
“You’ll never be forgotten for your great service.”
The porcupines also extended their condolences to the bereaved family.
“We are deeply saddened by the passing of our former management member Afrifa Yamoah Ponko. The thoughts of everyone at Asante Kotoko are with his family and friends at this difficult moment. RIP WOFA.”
The news of his death was confirmed last night by Sammy Gyamfi, the National Communications officer of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) under whose administration he served as an MCE in the Ashanti Region.
In a post on X formerly Twitter, he wrote, “Fare thee well Wofa.”
