Kotoko Board Member Kwadwo Boateng Genfi Reveals The Board’s Biggest Challenge Within One Year
The Board of Asante Kotoko has spent one year at the helm of affairs of the Ghanaian giants and Board Member, Kwadwo Boateng Genfi has revealed their biggest challenge ever since they assumed office.
On May 28, 2020, His Majesty Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, Asantehene, constituted a new Board of Directors for Asante Kotoko SC and tasked them with a ambitious task to rebuild Asante Kotoko brand not only for its performance on the sporting field but as a viable economic entity.
The decision came after Dr. Kwame Kyei’s three-year mandate came to an end.
Speaking on Opemsuo 104.7 fm evening Sports show, Pramaso, the Spokesman of the Board of Directors disclosed that the outbreak of novel COVID-19 pandemic has been their biggest challenge and that of false reportage from the media.
“Our biggest challenge ever since we assumed office as the Board of Directors for Asante Kotoko has been the outbreak of novel COVID-19 pandemic. The pandemic brought financial difficulties and we needed to come in with our personal money to support.”
“But I will say so far so good apart from sometimes false reportage from the media. Let me add that our second challenge has to do with fake and negative stories about the club,” he concluded.
The 12-member Board of Directors have three-year mandate from His Majesty Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, owner of Asante Kotoko Sporting Club, to shape the Ghanaian giants to reclaim its pre-eminent position among the elite clubs of Africa.
