Kotoko Bags 3 Points In Game Against Kotoku Royals
Asante Kotoko Sporting Club won their first game in their last two matches in the 2022/2023 Ghana Premier League season at the DAWU on Monday evening.
During their last match against Tamale City at home, they pulled a draw.
The porcupine warriors thrashed Kotoku Royals by 3:1 and now occupy the fourth spot on the league table, four points away from third-placed Bechem United.
Starting for the visitors were Augustine Agyapong, Moise Pouaty, Yussif Mubarik, Andrews Appau, John Tedeku, Justice Blay, Rocky Dwamena, Richmond Lamptey, Dickson Afoakwa, Georges Mfegue and Sarfo Taylor.
Opening the scoresheet for Kotoko was George Mfegue who finished well after a cross from Sarfo Taylor eight minutes into the game.
It was made two for the Porcupine Warriors in the 28th minute by Mfegue.
The host managed to pull one back in the 35th minute. The scoreline was maintained until after the first half.
Coach Abdulai Gazale’s side added a third goal three minutes after the break.
The defending champions now hold 47 points and are hopeful of defending their title.
There are three more matches to end the season.
