Atwima Kwanwomahene Commissions Early Grade Resource Centre at St. Louis College of Education

Nana Amponsah Kwaa IV, the Chief of Atwima Kwanwoma, officially commissioned a newly refurbished Early Grade Resource Center at St. Louis College of Education on April 9th, an initiative funded by Sabre Education Ghana.
In his address, Nana Amponsah Kwaa IV emphasized the critical importance of strong educational foundations for children, stressing that quality education should be prioritized over simply increasing access.
He called on the Ghana Education Service (GES) and the government to provide more support for Early Grade Resource Centers across the country, as they play a vital role in national development.
The Chief expressed gratitude to Sabre Education and St. Louis College for their collaboration in enhancing the educational experience for future generations.
He also made an appeal to NGOs and philanthropists to help the college achieve its educational goals.
“The initiative by Sabre Education to refurbish this Resource Center will not only enhance the quality of informal education in the country but also provide trainees with valuable knowledge and experience during and after their schooling.”
Mrs. Monica Konnie Mensah, the Principal of St. Louis College of Education, highlighted the center’s significance in providing students with crucial insights into early-grade education.
She noted that many schools currently lack such resources, and the opening of this center aligns with her vision of offering practical experiences to enhance teaching and learning.
Mrs. Mensah also appealed to the government and NGOs for further support, particularly in improving infrastructure and providing transportation, which remain challenges at the college. She thanked the Sabre Foundation for addressing several of these issues.
“I encourage other philanthropists to build an additional Resource Centre for the school so that it can serve as a hub for nearby kindergarten schools,” she added.
Mr. James Ayando, Director of Programs for Sabre Education, reaffirmed the foundation’s commitment to enhancing early childhood education.
He confirmed that Sabre Education has supported numerous colleges with refurbished Resource Centers to create an environment conducive to effective learning.
Mrs. Evelyn Kwarteng, the Regional Coordinator for Early Childhood Education, spoke about the significant impact early grade education has on children’s development.
She urged the government, teachers, and stakeholders to prioritize the establishment of quality early education centres, as many schools are still poorly equipped to provide effective learning environments.
