Kofi Adams Nominated as Sports Minister

The Member of Parliament for Buem Constituency in the Oti region, Hon Kofi Iddie Adams has been nominated as the Minister for Sports and Recreation.

If approved by Parliament, the former National Organizer for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) will succeed Mustapha Ussif.

He was among 11 sector Ministers nominated by President John Dramani Mahama on January 21, 2025.

He takes over the country’s sports sector which in the view of many is in a precarious state and in urgent need of review and resetting.

Born on 2nd May 1975, the two-time legislator holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Zoology with an emphasis on the Epidemiology of Parasitic Diseases.

He is a former Spokesperson And Director Of Public Affairs under Flt Lt. Jerry John Rawlings (Rtd), a former President of Ghana.

The former tutor of Adisadel College won the parliamentary bid to represent the Buem Constituency on the ticket of the NDC in 2020 after securing 388 votes to unseat Daniel Kosi Ashaimah.

He went ahead to win the 2024 elections as well.
