KNUST lecturer remanded over wife disappearance
Dr. Wilberforce Aggrey, a lecturer at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) has been remanded by the Asokwa District court over the disappearance of the administrator for Ashanti regional Lands Commission, Mrs. Rhodaline Amoah-Darko.
The suspect has been charged with Kidnapping.
The news about his wife’s disappearance was reported to the police on 2nd September 2021 with the information that the victim had been kidnapped, the prosecutor pointed out.
Police probe revealed that kidnapping notes sent from the victim’s phone number to Mr. Aggrey and some relatives showed the messages were sent in a location closer to the couple’s home at KNUST campus, the prosecutor said.
Dr. Aggrey during interrogation admitted he sent the messages under threat from one Rukky, who threatened to harm his family if he didn’t. He also admitted taking his wife somewhere close to the volta lake to keep her safe, however, failed to tell the police her location, the prosecutor added.
The suspect was remanded after the prosecutor called for it. He will reappear on November 25, 2021.
