KMA to Undertake Cleanup Exercise on Saturday

The Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) has announced what it calls an all-inclusive clean-up exercise across the metropolis on Saturday, January 10, 2026.
It said the exercise is in line with the government’s sanitation efforts and is expected to commence at 6 am and close at noon.
As such, it has banned all trading and commercial activities within the metropolis until noon to make way for the full participation of all the individuals and corporate entities.
It also restricted commercial vehicular activities during the stipulated period.
The exercise will be operational at Otumfuo Round-About to MTN Round-About to Zoo Round-About, Roman Hill Down to Aboabo Station Crossroads through Alabar to Apagyafie Crossroads, Apagyafie Crossroads through Dr Mensah to Otumfuo Round-About, MTN Round-About, and the entire CBD.
“We anticipate that all traders, corporate entities, commercial drivers, and residents will comply with this directive.”
