KMA Issues Final Notice for Garage Operators around Baba Yara Sports Stadium to Evacuate

The Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) has issued a final notice for garage operators and owners of temporary structures around the Baba Yara Sports Stadium to evacuate.

In an earlier directive, it ordered to evacuate voluntarily by on or before Wednesday, February 5, 2026.

It noted that the exercise forms part of the KMA’s ongoing efforts to enhance public safety, improve sanitation, ensure free movement, and restore order and aesthetic value to critical public spaces within the Kumasi Metropolis.

To ensure full compliance, the Works Department of the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly has been instructed to serve eviction notices on all affected structures.

“Owners and operators are therefore advised to take immediate steps to remove their properties within the stipulated timeframe.”

It noted that failure to comply within the time frame will result in the forced removal of the structures by the Assembly and shall not be held liable for any loss or damage arising from the enforcement action.

“Management reiterates that no further extensions will be granted beyond this final notice and urges all affected persons to cooperate fully to avoid inconvenience.”
