KMA Announces Plans to Inaugurate New Kejetia Market Board

The Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) has announced preparations to inaugurate a Board of Directors for the Kumasi City Market Ltd, known as Kejetia Dubai.

The move is to ensure smooth operation of the market, Mayor Richard Ofori-Agyeman Boadi said in a Facebook post on Tuesday.

The facility has been without a permanent leadership for almost a year; however, it has been run by a three-member interim committee.

The Committee, comprising Prince Ofori Atta- Chairman, Amoah Prince Nyarko- Operations Manager and Nana Prempeh Amankwaa – Security, was announced by the Ashanti regional Minister, Dr Frank Amoakohene, after directing the then management of Market to vacate the post.

At the time, the Minister reported that their removal was to make way for investigations into petitions from stakeholders and traders raising concerns about the management of the market concerning Sanitation, Utility Bills and other general services.
