Kidnappers in Viral Video Busted, Victims Rescued

A collaboration between the Ghana Police Service and the Nigeria Police Force has led to the arrest of suspects in the viral kidnapping video and subsequent rescue of two victims.

A viral video captured one of the victims stripped naked and being assaulted by the kidnappers.

The GPS in a statement on Tuesday said an investigation had been launched.

In a subsequent statement on May 1, it announced the rescue and arrests.

“The Ghana Police Service, in collaboration with the National Signals Bureau (NSB) and the Nigeria Police Force has rescued the two female victims of kidnapping captured on video which went viral.”

According to the police report, eight suspects have so far been arrested in connection with the crime from their hideouts in Ghana and Nigeria.

It further expressed immense gratitude to the NSB and the Nigeria Police Force for their collaboration and support in the rescue and arrest operations.
