Ken Ohene Agyapong Denies Cash Disbursements to Delegates

Aspiring presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Ken Agyapong, has denied claims of cash disbursements to delegates ahead of the Presidential Primary.

In a statement, his Campaign Team said its attention had been drawn to a fraudulent text message sent from a compromised sender ID (“KenAgyapong”), falsely claiming cash disbursements to delegates.

It noted that neither the candidate nor the campaign team has sanctioned or approved any such payments.

“We state categorically that the message is false and unauthorised and did not originate from Ken Ohene Agyapong or his campaign [team].”

It disclosed that following earlier incidents of sender ID spoofing, the campaign team formally notified the National Communications Authority (NIA) and has since secured exclusive approval of a new official sender ID – “KennedyAGY,” which is now the sole authorised SMS communication channel of the team.

“Accordingly, any message originating from the sender ID “KenAgyapong” should be disregarded,” the statement added.
