Ken Ofori-Atta Expected To Unfold Gov’t Plans To Mitigate Hardship
The Miniser for Finance, Ken Ofori-Atta is expected to address Ghanaians later this week over government policies to mitigate economic hardship the country is plunged into.
This was relayed in a press release from the Ministry of Information.
The Finance Minister is expected to give the address later this week, the statement said.
This comes after the cabinet held its first quarterly retreat for 2022 at Peduase in the Eastern region over weekend.
The Ministry of Information clued that the crunch meeting birthed policies to help cushion citizens against incessant fuel hikes, the depreciating cedi and inflation, to which Ofori-Atta will detail.
“President Nana Addo Danquah Akufo-Addo has approved a number of far-reaching measures aimed at mitigating the depreciation of the cedi, ensuring expenditure discipline and providing relief in the face of global fuel hikes and inflation as well as ensuring that priority programs meant to grow the economy are protected.”
