Karim Zito Confident of FA Cup Victory Over Aduana Stars

Karim Zito is confident of defeating Aduana Stars in the cup’s Round 16 stage.

Kumasi Asante Kotoko, the current FA Cup champions, continues to make efforts to defend their title against their long-time rivals, Aduana Stars.

Karim Zito will be playing his fifth game in the FA Cup competition since he took over the helm of affairs of the team on April 22, 2025.

The former left-back of Asante Kotoko, Zito, has played a total of twenty-seven games in the Ghana Premier League and four games in Ghana’s MTN FA Cup.

Zito and his charges lost their last game in the Ghana Premier League at Kpando to Heart of Lions, curbing their desire to win the title.

Aduana Stars has also expressed its ambition to win the FA Cup, as well as make up teams within the top four of the Ghana Premier League after the season officially comes to an end.

Karim Zito, upon his arrival at Asante Kotoko, will be meeting Aduana Stars, Aristică Cioabă for the third time in all competitions and for the first time in the MTN FA Cup.

Zito’s initial contest versus Cioabă Aristică was in Week 29 of the 2024-2025 season, on April 27th, 2025, at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium. They renewed their meeting in Week 10 of the current season, on November 16th, 2026.

Asante Kotoko’s Zito has stayed without a defeat in all competitive games played against Cioabă Aristică since his stint as the head coach of the red army.

Karim Zito was optimistic about his chances of winning the next fixture against Aduana Stars following a loss to Heart of Lions at the Lions’ Den. He urged for a win in the match because he hopes to win a double at the end of the season.

“Definitely, we have to win, we don’t have any excuse but to win that game, because one of my objectives is to win the Ghana Premier League or the FA Cup or double,” Zito revealed.
