Justice Isn’t Reserved for Plaintiffs; Ablakwa on Blays Suit
The Member of Parliament for North Tongu Constituency, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, has reacted to defamation lawsuits filed against him by the Blay Family, stating justice is not reserved for plaintiffs.
The lawmaker has been dragged to court for defaming Freddie Blay, the former National Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and Kwame Blay, his son, in two separate suits.
Kwame Blay says he was misrepresented by Ablakwa as Kwaw Blay and implicated in the public eye to have some links to the Polo Beach- the beachfront of the Labadi Beach Hotel Ablakwa claims had been taken over by the two sons of Freddie Blay.
Denying any link to the said beachfront and the Polo business as well as other allegations, he said it had affected his business reputation.
Meanwhile, his father, Freddie linked the conduct of the legislator to politics.
Reacting to the news on his Facebook page, Ablakwa said he was yet to be served by the lawyers of the Blays but sounded unperturbed by the two suits.
“They say better late than never — even though I am yet to be served, this is great news after many weeks of countless threats. The battle to reclaim Labadi Beach Hotel’s beachfront just got exciting.”
He added, “Justice does not always belong to those who are first to seek refuge in the courts — if you doubt this, ask the double identity champion. No matter the intimidation theatrics, State Capture shall surely be defeated!”
