Jordan Ayew, Richard Ofori Join Black Stars Camp
English Premier League’s top dribbler Jordan Ayew and goalkeeper Richard Ofori have joined the Black Stars players in camp in Kumasi in the Ashanti Region.
According to the Ghana Football Association (GFA), they joined the squad on Wednesday, January 3 and partook in training ahead of the Nations Cup tournament in the middle of this month.
“Crystal Palace forward Jordan Ayew and Orlando Pirates shot-stopper Richard Ofori are the latest players to join the Black Stars camp in Kumasi ahead of the Africa Cup of Nations Cote D’Ivoire 2023.”
This means 25 players are now in camp.
Meanwhile, reports indicate that Inaki William who was cleared after an injury will join his colleagues later on January 4. The nation is also awaiting the arrival of Kudus Mohammed after a “slight” injury.
Ghana is paired in Group B in the AFCON tournament with Cape Verde, Egypt and Mozambique.
Their first game will be against Cape Verde on Sunday, January 14, 2024, and take on Egypt four days later before their final group match against Mozambique on January 2024.
The team will take on Namibia in an international friendly on Monday.
