I’ve Been Advised to Eat Before Watching Black Stars’ Friday Game- Mahama

President John Dramani Mahama says he has been cautioned to take precautionary measures before watching the Black Stars’ game against Chad on Friday.

As a soccer-sensitive individual, he is willing to risk it by watching the team host Chad at the Accra Sports Stadium.

“I will take time off and watch the game myself even though my heart is not very good at watching soccer, I will brave it,” he told the players and the technical team on a visit on March 19.

Notwithstanding that, he has been advised to first take his meal.

“They say I should eat before I go and sit down and my hope is that I will justify my sitting and watching you guys. The whole of Ghana is going to be behind you and I’m sure you can make it.”

The President further encouraged the team, assuring them of the unflinching support of all Ghanaians.

“I am here on behalf of all Ghanaians as the President of the Republic to just cheer you on and encourage you. Ghanaians have had their hearts broken by the fact that we didn’t qualify for the AFCON. Even where we qualified for the AFCON we crashed out very early the last time and so we haven’t given up on you.”

The Black Stars will lock horns with Chad at the Accra Sports Stadium on Friday, March 21, 2025, and then travel to Morocco to face Madagascar in another Group I match on Monday, March 24, 2025.

Ghana is currently second in Group I with nine points from four matches after securing three wins and one defeat, levelling them with Comoros.
