Injured FireFighters To Be Airlifted For Medical Care After Fatal Crash In Atebubu
The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) says it has put in place arrangements to airlift the five firefighters who got into an accident at Atebubu, to take further medical attention at the 37 Military Hospital in Accra.
“The Chief Fire Officer through the Council Chairman and the Minister for the Interior has put in place arrangements to airlift the officers to the 37 Military Hospital in Accra for further medical care”, a portion of the statement said.
The firefighters reportedly got involved in a fatal accident on Tuesday, February 15, 2022 while responding to a distress call.
According to Graphic, the car carrying the firefighters knocked down a motor rider with a pillion rider resulting in the death of the pillion rider and causing the car of the firefighters to summersault several times.
Graphic reports three of the fire officers were referred to the Techiman Holy Family Hospital.
In a statement, the GNFS said the Chief Fire Officer is deeply saddened by the unfortunate accident involving five fire officers who were responding to a fire call at Atebubu.
It also assured that the full resources of the Service will be put at the disposal of the affected personnel fro the best medical treatment.
