Inflation Drops in December 2023 – GSS

For the fifth consecutive time, inflation has dropped, recording a rate of 23.2% for December 2023.

Government Statistician Professor Samuel Kobina Annim addressing the media says this decline comes as a positive outcome, considering that government and the Central Bank’s end -2023 inflation target stood at 31.3% and 29% respectively.

This latest inflation rate represents a 3.2 percentage decrease from the 26.4 percent recorded in November.

Data from the Ghana Statistical Service (GSS) Consumer Price Index released on Wednesday indicates that food inflation dropped to 28.7% while non food inflation stood fell to 18.7%.
