IGP Directs Police Professional Standards Bureau to Probe Alleged Assault on Ibrahim Mahama

The Inspector-General of Police Mr Christian Tetteh-Yohuno has directed the Police Professional Standards Bureau (PPSB) to commence investigation into a case of assault on artist, Mr. Ibrahim Mahama at Tamale.

The PPSB investigation will be conducted along side the criminal investigation currently ongoing by the Northern Regional Command.

The outcome of both investigations will be communicated in due course.

It comes after the artist reported an assault by some police officers.

In an earlier statement, the Ghana Police Service clarified that the Special Operation Team (Black Maria) deployed by the IGP to Tamale which was reported to be involved in the assault is false as it was withdrawn on March 5.
