I Was Dismissed from SHS Countless Times- Actor Otumfour Nana

Ghanaian actor Nana Boakye Ansah, popularly known as Otumfour Nana has shared a testimony of his past following what appears like his repentance.

In a social media video, he expressly discussed how his defiance and insolence since his teenage days obstructed his academic pursuit, got him dismissed several times and nearly cost him his life.

As a student of Tepa Senior High School, the Kumawood actor now based in the United Kingdom (UK) said he put himself into enmity with the head teacher as a result of his unrestrained attitude.

“I feared nothing. My mates will attest to this. As a boarding student, I was perching with my girlfriend somewhere in town. I was dismissed countless times. I was affiliated to the traditional leader of the town at the time so whenever I was dismissed, I go to her and she would send people to go and plead with the head teacher to readmit me.”

He believes the porosity of the rules in Ghana is partly to blame for his bad attitude at the time.

“Once I got hit in the head by a ceiling fan. I got a deep wound. The headmaster told them to leave me to die because I was troublesome. I bullied a lot of people to the extent that some dropped out. I was bleeding profusely then a mate went to get a taxi to take me to the hospital. I couldn’t control myself.”

In the long run, he said God came through for him to his utter surprise.
“I was everywhere but God had a plan for me.”

He encouraged everyone to make friends with the bible, emphasizing that it is a life manual.

“Study the bible and you will be good to go. The word of God will make you strong. That is what has helped me, not just prayer. Prayer is good but the word of God is good for uprightness. Many people disregard the bible but it is eye-opening. It contains treasures.”
