I Didn’t Think Twice to Say Yes; Kwasi Asante On Kotoko Move

Versatile Ghanaian player Kwasi Asante says he hopped onto the opportunity to play for Asante Kotoko without a second thought.

He was sure beyond reasonable doubt that it was a prudent choice to make when the opportunity presented itself.

In an interview with the Club media following the completion of his move on January 22, 2025, he said joining Kotoko felt like a homecoming.

“This is a club I’ve admired for years because of its history and passion. When the opportunity came, I didn’t have to think twice because I wanted to be part of something special here.”

The 29-year-old is ready to live up to expectations and give his quota to make Kotoko successful.

“I know the fans have high expectations, and I’m ready to give everything I’ve got to meet them. Competition for places is part of football, and I welcome it because it makes us all better. I’m here to work hard, contribute to the team, and help Kotoko achieve its goals this season.”

Kwasi is on a one-and-a-half-year contract.

The 29-year-old previously played for Hafia Club of Guinea, Simba FC in Tanzania, and Mbabane Swallows in Eswatini.

According to Kotoko, he is a “valuable option” to the technical team as he fits into left-back, centre-back and wings.
