I Am Not an NDC Member- Vormawor

Former Senior Legal and Policy Officer at the Office of the President in Ghana, Oliver Barker Vormawor has affirmed he is not aligned with the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC).

During his interrogation at the summons of the Appointments Committee of Parliament on January 29, 2025, he dispelled the general belief and perception.

“It is completely untrue,” he said in reference to a comment by a Committee member.

Rather he said he has been a faithful of the Convention People’s Party (CPP) which was founded by the country’s first President, Dr Kwame Nkrumah.

“I have not been a member of the NDC in the past and it is my hope that my ideology- I have always consistently voted for the CPP and I will continue to do so.”

Barker was summoned before the Committee to adduce evidence in support of a social media post he made.

In the end, the social activist rendered an unqualified apology and committed himself to pulling down the post which has been deemed contemptuous and has garnered wide condemnation.
