Hundreds Bid Farewell to Ardent Kotoko Fan Pooley

Hundreds have converged at Heroes Park at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in the Ashanti Region to bid their final farewell to committed Asante Kotoko fan, Francis Yaw Frimpong, known as Nana Pooley.
The 44-year-old, who passed away while selflessly fulfilling his voluntary duty as a devoted supporter, will be laid to rest today at the Ahafo Kukuom Royal Cemetery.
Family, friends and the football fraternity are gathered to pay their last respects to the deceased at the solemn atmosphere.
Among them are the Management, technical, playing body and supporters of the Porcupines as well as supporters of various top-tier clubs.
Nana Pooley met his untimely death after being stabbed by an assailant following a game between Asante Kotoko SC and Nsoatreman FC at Nsoatre in the Bono Region on February 2, 2025.
The tragic incident forced Kotoko to suspend participation in all football activities with the Ghana Premier League being put on hold for almost a month for better safety and security protocols to be devised by the Ghana Football Association (GFA).
Meanwhile, a number of persons have been arrested and charged for their role in the murder including former Employment Minister, Ignatius Baffour Awuah.
The stabber has however bolted to Senegal.
