Helicopter Crash: Children’s Support Fund Generates Over ₵2 million

The Children’s Support Fund, established for the children of the helicopter crash victims, has generated ₵2,315,000.00 since its announcement last week.
The donations were from Stanbic Bank, Procus GH Limited, GB Foods Ghana, Sunda FM Manufacturing Ltd, Sage Distribution Ltd, Quantum Oil Terminals, Quantum LPG Logistics Ltd, Newgas Cylinder Ltd and Quantum Terminals PLC.
The Fund will be used to assist the welfare of the children of the victims of the August 6 helicopter crash.
“Government expresses its gratitude to Stanbic Bank Ghana for an initial seed donation of GHS 500,000.00, and to {the other} companies for their contributions to the Fund,” Dr. Valerie Sawyerr, the Senior Presidential Advisor on Governmental Affairs, & Coordinator of the Fund, noted in a statement.
Donations may be made to the Fund via the following Stanbic Bank Ghana Limited accounts (Stanbic Heights Branch, Accra):

-US Dollar (USD) Account: 9040013628534
Meanwhile, cheques and bank drafts should be made payable to: CHILDREN SUPPORT FUND 6825.
The government intends to update the list of donors on a weekly basis.
According to President John Dramani Mahama, the Fund will cover their education from primary through to university or technical training.
The Funds also cover healthcare, including medical insurance, specialised care where required, and welfare support, clothing, shelter, and special living expenses.
