Helicopter Crash: Children’s Fund Generates ¢3.5 Million and US$20k

Senior Presidential Advisor on Governmental Affairs and Coordinator of the helicopter crash victims’ children fund, Dr. Valerie Sawyerr, has announced that the cedi account has generated GHS 3,576,600.00 while the dollar account has received US$20,000.00 donations.
The amounts were generated from August 19 to 28.
In its weekly update on August 29, she said the donations were given by the Ghana Airport Ltd, Kennedy Hedoe, Peter Adongo, Mensah Michael, Appaul Wiredu Lateef, Gursamuer Hodalon, Dauda Iddi, ARB Apex Bank PLC and STL Foundation.
Also included are Olam Agric, Fidelity Bank Ghana, ADB Bank, GLICO General Insurance and the National Insurance Commission.
Crash
A GAF helicopter crashed on August 6, 2025, in Adansi Akrofrom in the Ashanti Region, claiming the lives of Dr. Edward Kofi Omane Boamah, Minister for Defence, Dr. Ibrahim Murtala Mohammed, Minister for Environment, Science, Technology and Alhaji Muniru Mohammed Limuna, Acting Deputy National Security Coordinator.
It also claimed the lives of Dr. Samuel Sarpong, Vice Chairman of the National Democratic Congress, Mr. Samuel Aboagye, Deputy Director-General, NADMO, Squadron Leader Peter Bafemi Anala, Flying Officer Manden Twum-Ampadu and Sergeant Ernest Addo Mensah.
