Hearts of Oak Poor Form Leaves Coach Aboubakar Ouattara Frustrated
The Head Coach of Hearts of Oak, Aboubakar Ouattara, is confounded by the inconsistencies and poor performances by his boys in the Ghana Premier League (GPL).
He expressed his frustration with the team after their 1-0 defeat at home to third-placed Aduana Stars on Sunday, May 19, 2024.
He characterized the performance of his team as “very bad” in an interview with the media.
“We played a very bad game. We didn’t have any motivation. I’m disappointed completely. These boys I can’t understand them. Today they are good, tomorrow they are bad.
“I don’t understand what happened. It was a very bad game. I have nothing else to say. Very bad game. We played 90 minutes without a shot on the goalkeeper. I’m not happy.”
Aduana earned all three points on Sunday after going three games without a win. The sole goal was provided by Kelvin Obeng in the 11th minute and was well defended throughout the remaining 79 minutes of the game.
Hearts who recorded a 3-0 win against Berekum Chelsea prior to their game against Aduana is now 12th on the table with 38 points.
The Phobians have not really impressed this season. The appointment of Ouattara in mid-February was initially characterized by back-to-back victories; however their performance has rebounded to default.
The Board of Directors of the club reacted to the trend in a press statement two weeks ago in which they called the results unacceptable and relayed plans to engage the Management for better outcomes.
