Health Minister Orders Audit into Health Facilities in Oti Region

The Health Minister, Kwabena Mintah Akandoh, has directed a comprehensive audit of all health facilities in the Oti Region.
This is intended to support evidence-based planning and improve healthcare delivery in the jurisdiction.
He gave the order during a two-day working visit to the region.
Akandoh, in an address, stated that a comprehensive audit would generate critical data on infrastructure, staffing levels, equipment availability, and service delivery gaps, enabling the Ministry of Health and its agencies to implement targeted and effective interventions.
He said this while reaffirming the Ministry’s commitment to working closely with regional and district authorities to strengthen the health system in the Region.
It will also enhance advancement plans for the establishment of the Oti Regional Hospital, according to him.
As part of the visit, the Minister engaged newly posted medical doctors and other health professionals to assess their working conditions and discuss issues related to motivation, retention, and service delivery.
He also inspected the proposed site for the construction of the Oti Regional Hospital.
The Minister further engaged with the Oti Regional Coordinating Council, Members of Parliament, District Chief Executives, Chiefs, other traditional authorities and key stakeholders.
