Health Minister Leads Expanded Stakeholder Review of Agenda 111 Programme

The Minister for Health, Kwabena Mintah Akandoh, has chaired a two-day stakeholder engagement aimed at deepening discussions on Ghana’s flagship Agenda 111 health infrastructure programme.
The engagement focuses on findings from the Agenda 111 audit report, conducted by Audit and Evaluation Services Limited (AESL), providing stakeholders with an opportunity to review, clarify, and align key audit outcomes.
Discussions also centred on the proposed introduction of a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) management system for hospital equipment, a move expected to strengthen efficiency, maintenance, and value for money across health facilities.
The extended engagement underscores the government’s dedication to transparency, accountability, and sustainable management of investments within the health sector.
The Agenda 111 initiative was birthed after the Covid-19 pandemic with plans to construct 101 district hospitals, six Regional Hospitals, three psychiatric hospitals for the Coastal, Middle and Northern Belts, respectively, and the rehabilitation of the Effia-Nkwanta Hospital in the Western Region.
The project was envisioned to be completed and commissioned before the end of the term of former President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo on January 7, 2025.
