Hajj: Special Passport Centre Established For Pilgrims- Ablakwa

The Minister for Foreign Affairs (MFA), Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa has set up a special passport centre to address challenges that have risen with the high demand for passports among potential Hajj pilgrims.
He announced it on March 4, 2025, on a visit to the Hajj Village.
“We are not oblivious to the fact that for many, securing travel documents in a timely manner has been a major challenge. To address this, our ministry has set up this special passport centre, operational from March 4 to March 13, 2025, exclusively to serve Hajj applicants.”
The North Tongu Constituency Member of Parliament indicated that the initiative will be replicated in all regions of the country.
“To extend this service to as many people as possible, we are also setting up dedicated kiosks at various regional passport application centres, ensuring that applicants outside Accra can also benefit from this initiative,” he stated.
Additionally, he announced a waiver for those undertaking expedited passport applications.
“In collaboration with the government, we are pleased to announce that the cost of expedited passport processing has been maintained at the usual ¢500 flat rate.”
