Guinness World Records Exposes Ghanaian Content Creator over Fake Eat-a-thon
Guinness World Records (GWR) has exposed Ghanaian content creator Clementina Nkrumah, popularly known as Afua Nash, over a fake eating marathon she intended to undertake starting Monday, November 11, 2024.
Earlier this week, the sensational foodie put out a flyer with the logo of the world record keeper announcing the purported adventure lasting four days, seven hours, and twenty minutes.
However, a message from the GWR stated that it has stopped monitoring records for eat-a-thon.
“We no longer monitor records for eating over a long period of time, though we did in the past,” it commented under a post by EDHUB on X formerly Twitter.
Though it still has consumption records, these records are based on the rate of consumption and so are limited to a short time frame of up to three minutes, depending on the food.
Further information on GWR record said in the 1983 edition, Edward Abraham Miller (b.1909) of Oakland, California was recognised as the world’s greatest trencherman.
He consumed up to 25,000 calories per day and was undefeated in eating contests since 1922.
In the 1990s, the record keeper stopped monitoring these records and does not accept any applications for unfettered gluttony, it noted.
This message only means that Afua Nash intended to tread the same path as chef Chef Smith who was also busted for staging a fake cook-a-thon and subsequently a fake certification.
This development has since angered Ghanaians who believe punitive measures must be instituted against such people.
One Mr Tim Commented on X, “Another scam nearly happened.”
“Such people should be arrested and punished,” another said.
“So why will she even start a competition without getting official approval from Guinness? This nonsense must stop,” commented another.
