GTA CEO Engages Police Ahead of December in GH

The Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA) has held engagements with the Ghana Police Service to discuss security preparations for the 2025 edition of December in GH, a flagship tourism campaign aimed at positioning Ghana as Africa’s premier holiday destination.
The meeting between the Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Tourism Authority, Maame Efua Houadjeto and the Inspector-General of Police, COP Christian Tetteh Yohornu, focused on boosting safety across event venues, hospitality facilities, entertainment corridors and high-traffic areas expected to host thousands of visitors.
The CEO commended the Ghana Police Service for its professionalism—reflected in the 2024 Tourism Report, where 65% of international visitors ranked Ghana among the safest destinations in Africa.
The IGP assured GTA of the Service’s full readiness for the season, emphasising stronger coordination for a smooth, incident-free experience.
The engagement followed the launch of the programme at the Jubilee House in Accra on Monday, October 13.
The 2025 edition will be held under the Black Star Experience initiative of the current government.
