Group Stages Protest For Removal of Kissi Agyebeng as Special Prosecutor

A group of Ghanaians are scheduled to hit the streets of Accra to demand the removal of Kissi Agyebeng as the Special Prosecutor (SP).
The protest dubbed “Agro Ne Fom” aims to highlight ‘inefficiency’ at the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP), the lead convenor, Apostle Abraham Larbi Lincoln, said in an address ahead of the demonstration on November 24, 2025.
“We will be in our reds, and we will be there to present our case. If he doesn’t listen, then we know the kind of person he is. We are marching straight to the Jubilee House, and we will petition the President,” he said.
Meanwhile, private legal practitioner Martin Kpebu disclosed that 15 petitions have been submitted to the President in that regard in accordance with Article 146.
The head of Kissi is being sought after revelations that he ‘allowed’ the former Finance Minister, who has been accused of suspected corruption and corruption-related offences, to leave the country after all efforts to stop him using state agencies proved futile.
“For Kissi Agyebeng to allow Ofori Atta to flee out of the country is sufficient to send Kissi Agyebeng out of office,” Kpebu told the media on Tuesday as the protestors convened.
According to him, Kissi should have addressed Ghanaians about his challenges.
“He {Kissi Agyebeng} said he wrote to NIB but couldn’t get help, he wrote to National Security but didn’t get help, he wrote to Immigration service but didn’t get help. What do you do? The constitution says come to the people of Ghana because sovereignty resides in the people of Ghana.
“As a head of a public institution, you are being frustrated in your work, the constitution allows you to come and complain to the people of Ghana because the people of Ghana are the owners of Ghana.”
“Can you imagine, Ofori Atta, when he was travelling, wrote to the outgoing Chief of Staff and the incoming Chief of Staff, and Kissi Agyebeng said he intercepted the letter…When Kissi Agyebeng saw the letter, he was supposed to come to the people of Ghana through a press conference…If he had come, people would have come to the airport to stop him.”
