Green Ghana Project: Gov’t Urged to Engage Traditional Leaders
The Chief of Bibiani in the Bibiani Anhwiaso Bekwai Municipality of the Western North Region, Nana Ngoah Anyimah Kodom II, has pleaded with the government to bring on board Nananom to be part of the Green Ghana Project to make it more successful.
Speaking with newsmen, he opined that with the involvement of Chiefs and Queens, the project which was started in 2021 can be more effective to maximise the full benefits of the project.
“The local people hold their traditional leaders in high esteem. Due to the respect and reverence they have for them, they are more likely to listen to traditional leaders than politicians,” he said.
He further said that actively involving Nananom in the project will help purge the program from politicisation and make it more nationalistic to bring onboard every Ghanaian.
He disclosed this when he led the people of Bibiani Township in a tree planting exercise organised by the Bibiani Traditional Council led by himself.
